The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

I kind of need your help, gals/guys- especially to those of you who get a lot of comments, faves, notes, etc.

I've had various creepers/stalkers sending me messages, and I can handle that simply by ignoring or blocking. However, I occasionally get people who become really, REALLY obsessive (not in the perverted way) and they won't stop sending me messages. Some, absolutely massive messages which I just don't have the time to reply to!
The messages are now starting to get out of control now that I'm not as active on DeviantArt as I used to be, and they start flaring up whenever I don't reply. It's really scaring me and I have no idea how to handle it. I try to be polite, and at first I even tried to be friends, but things get weirder and weirder by the day until I really feel like I just can't take it rationally anymore.

Some of these people sound like they have some mental issues (and I mean that in the most respectful possible way, not "OMG THEY'RE CRAZY")- some have even admitted their problems to me. But I am just one girl, a stranger on the internet who submits cutesy artwork for people to look at. I am not a miracle worker, nor someone who has the magical ability to be friends with everybody.

I could just block them, but that would be so cold!! They're nice people, really I'm sure they are, but I just can't handle it.
What can I do?

I deeply apologise if this journal sounds disrespectful or like a drama-magnet; that is not my intention.

And do not worry about their feelings if you block them please! because if it's scareing you just block them!! i have done it heaps on other websites when i was about 10 and i just thought:
